On the card
Both SF9 layouts carry an Attendance Record: one column per month of the school year, June to May, with three rows — number of school days, days present, days absent — and a Total column at the end. A month with no school days set is left blank rather than printed as zero.
The Learner's Progress Report, used for Kindergarten to Grade 3, shows the same three rows per term instead of per month.
How the numbers are worked out
- School days are the days you ticked under School days for that month.
- Days absent are the
xmarks. A late learner was in class, soLnever reduces days present. - Days present is school days minus days absent.
The card is built from the register at the moment you generate it, so a correction made before release always reaches the printed card.
The panel under the register
What the report card will show gives one row per term: the months you put in it, the number of school days in the term, and how many learners are over the 20% absence limit. It recomputes as you mark.
What if a term shows a dash for school days
Two causes, both fixable in a minute:
- No months are assigned to that term. Open Months in each term and tick them.
- The months are assigned but no school days are set in any of them. Open each month and press Start from every weekday, then untick the holidays.
A term with no school days is left empty on purpose. Writing zeros would read as nobody came, which is a different and much worse claim than not recorded yet.
