Choosing the SF9 layout and the merit card design

Three report card layouts, seven merit card designs. Same grades on every one — the choice is about the paper your printer takes.

  • Say whether it helped at the bottom of the article. That is the only way we learn it is wrong.
  • Anything in a green box is what the DepEd order says; anything in amber is where teachers get caught.

The report card layouts

  • SF9 · One sheet — 13 × 8.5 in, landscape. Long bond, sideways. The whole form on one side: learning areas by period, observed values, the descriptor scale, teacher's comments, attendance by month, the signatures and the certificate of transfer.
  • SF9 · Front and back — 8.5 × 13 in, portrait, printed on both sides of one long bond sheet. This is the default. Front: the letter to the parent, the learning areas and the descriptor scale. Back: observed values, attendance by month, comments, signatures, the certificate of transfer and its cancellation.
  • Learner's Progress Report — A4 portrait, for Kindergarten to Grade 3 classes. Descriptors and the narrative per learning area, no scores. Descriptive classes are offered only this one.

Every layout is fed the same view model, so switching moves numbers around the page and never changes one.

How to switch

  1. On Report cards, open the layout picker beside the term picker. Each option names its sheet and what is on it.
  2. Or Class settings → Report card layout, which shows the same choices.

The change is recorded in the class's audit trail, and the release stores the layout it went out under, so a re-released term can be told apart from the layout it used.

Merit cards

Switch the toggle at the top right from Report card to Merit cards. Seven designs, all on Letter, 11 × 8.5 in, landscape: Azure Prestige (the default), Royal Gold Wave, Maroon Heritage, Fluid Gradient, Memphis Blocks, Emerald Silk and Banded Navy. Every design carries the same honour and citation.

Issue and print 6 merit cards puts each card on record with its own reference code and QR, then prints from the browser. Once they are issued, the button reads Print. Merit cards are never emailed.

What if

  • No layout picker, only a grey pill. Either one layout fits the class, or you are not its adviser. Subject teachers see the choice, they do not make it.
  • "That layout does not fit this class." A descriptive class was pointed at an SF9 layout. Choose from the list shown for it.
  • "No award policy yet." Merit cards come from awards. Add a policy on the Awards page and the awardees' cards appear here.
