Where they are
Sidebar → End of term → Report cards, then Merit cards at the top of the page. Cards come from the awards your policies grant: with no policy the page says so and links you to Awards, and with no awardee for the period it tells you to check who is near on the Awards page.
Printing a batch
- Pick the period in the first picker: a term, or Year-end.
- Pick the design in the second. Seven layouts — Azure Prestige, Royal Gold Wave, Maroon Heritage, Fluid Gradient, Memphis Blocks, Emerald Silk, Banded Navy — all Letter, landscape, one certificate per sheet. The choice is a class setting and applies to the whole batch.
- Pick what the average line prints in the third: the whole number the honour was decided on (the default), or follow the grade display — the same two or three decimals, rounded or cut, that the Grades page's display picker shows. Either way the honour itself is always decided on the whole number, so nobody gains or loses a medal by display.
- Press Issue and print N merit cards. The batch goes on record, re-renders with its codes, and the print dialog opens.
Once every card has a code the button reads Print N merit cards and prints straight away.
The reference code
Issuing gives each card a code like SM-7RK2-M9XQ and a QR beside the signature lines. Scanning it opens a page saying whether SchoolAide Lite issued a card under that reference: the award and tier, the basis and average it rests on, the learner, the class, the school, the school year and the date. Nothing else — no other grades, no LRN.
Issuing is idempotent per learner, award, period and tier. Print the same batch again and the codes stay the same, while the average on record follows the gradebook.
Before you print
The signature lines take the adviser's name from your account, and the School head name and Adviser title line from Class settings. Fill those in first or they print bare. A card with no code yet shows Not yet issued where the QR belongs.
If a learner should not have one
Merit cards are print only — nothing is emailed, and honours are never printed on the report card. If a grade changes and the learner no longer qualifies, their card stops appearing in the batch, but a reference already issued stays on record and still verifies. Message us on the Facebook page with your support reference and the card's code if one has to be withdrawn.
