Giving honours at the end of a term

DO 015 sets the year-end award. Term honours are your school's own, read on that term's average across the learning areas.

What a term award reads

The mean of a learner's term grades across every learning area of the class, rounded to a whole number. It is the same arithmetic the general average does on final grades, over one term instead of the whole year.

DepEd Order 15 prescribes the year-end Academic Excellence Award. It does not set term honours — those are your school's practice, so the bands on a term award are yours, and Lite never presents them as DepEd's.

Adding one

  1. Awards → New award.
  2. Set When is it given? to At the end of every term, on that term's average.
  3. Name it, then set the tiers. They arrive prefilled with the DO 015 bands as a starting point; change them to what your school actually awards.
  4. Save award.

Faster route: when a year-end award shows the strip explaining that it waits for the whole year, press Add a term award on that strip. The form opens already set to a term award and named after the term on screen — Term 1 honours, or Quarter 1 honours, or 1st Semester honours, whichever structure your class runs.

Switching terms

A term picker appears in the page actions as soon as one term award exists. It opens on the term the class has reached, not on the first one. Every term award on the page is read against the term you pick there.

Who is missing

A learner needs a grade in every learning area for that term. One area still unencoded and they have no average at all, so they appear in no tier — not in a lower one. The strip under the award names the areas that are holding it up.
