Marking observed values on the conduct grid

One grading period at a time: click a cell to cycle AO, SO, RO, NO, or set a whole column and mark only the exceptions.

  • Say whether it helped at the bottom of the article. That is the only way we learn it is wrong.
  • Anything in a green box is what the DepEd order says; anything in amber is where teachers get caught.

Where the grid is

Open the class, then Conduct in the sidebar. It reports one grading period at a time — the pills across the top read Term 1, Quarter 1 or 1st Semester, depending on how the class was set up. The first time an adviser opens the page, the class is given the four DepEd core values as its rows: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa.

Marking

  1. Pick the grading period on the pills.
  2. Click a cell. It cycles AO, SO, RO, NO, then blank, so a second thought about a cell is a second click.
  3. Or stay on the keyboard: A, S, R and N set the mark, Backspace or Delete clears it, and the arrow keys move between cells.
  4. To set a whole column, press Everyone under a core value's name and pick a mark. Every active learner gets it, including the ones already marked. Most advisers set the column to AO and then fix the exceptions.

Every press saves on its own. There is no Save button on this grid, and nothing is held in the browser waiting to be sent.

Reading the counts

The pill beside the period name counts marked cells against active learners multiplied by core values — "88 of 152 marked". The right-hand column counts one learner's row, 3/4. Both turn green when they are complete.

What the marks mean

AO always observed, SO sometimes, RO rarely, NO not observed. They are your observation, copied onto the SF9 exactly as encoded. They are text, never a number: nothing you mark here moves a term grade, a final grade or a general average.
