Steps
- Open the confirmation email, "Thank you. The account is open." It was sent to the guardian's address when consent was given.
- Press Withdraw consent.
- On the page that opens, press Withdraw consent again to confirm.
What changes
- The account stops showing grades from that moment. The learner's page says "Consent was withdrawn".
- Report cards the adviser emails keep arriving and keep opening. Those links need no account, so withdrawing does not cut the learner off from their own card.
- The withdrawal is written to the same record as the consent, with its time.
What if
- The withdraw link does not work. Each link works once. If it has been used, the account is already closed — the learner's page will say so.
- You cannot find the email. Ask the learner to check which address the consent went to; the withdraw link only ever goes there. If the account is still waiting for consent rather than open, there is nothing to withdraw: just leave it, and it is removed after 30 days.
- You change your mind. Nothing reopens a closed account. The learner keeps receiving report cards by emailed link. If they want a portal account again, they sign up with a different email address, ask their adviser to put it on the class list, and the consent request comes to you again.
- The learner still needs the card. Ask the class adviser to send it. On their Release cards page every learner has a row with Resend, and a card can also be printed instead.
