"You do not have permission"
Permission is decided on the thing you opened, never on which hat the sidebar is showing. The usual causes:
- You are not the adviser of that class. The roster, the learning areas, the grading rules, awards and releasing belong to the adviser. A subject teacher in the class sees the names and their own subject.
- You are a co-teacher, not the owner, of that gradebook. Co-teachers may type scores. Activities, settings, invitations and linking stay with the owner.
- The class or the gradebook is archived. Archived means read-only. Exports and report cards still work.
- The gradebook is locked in its settings. Scores are read-only until the owner unlocks it.
- A download link expired. Signed export and card links are short-lived. Export again from the class.
A class disappeared from the sidebar
The sidebar lists active classes only. An archived one is still on My classes, under Archived · read only. Open it, go to Class settings, and press Reopen in the banner at the top. Classes archive when you archive them, and after twelve months without a sign-in.
"This roster is at its limit"
Limits are per account, not per school — a second school does not grant a second allowance. Settings → What your account can do shows what you have used of each.
| Unverified | Verified | |
|---|---|---|
| Classes | 1 | 3 |
| Subject gradebooks | 2 | 12 |
| Learners in one class | 15 | 70 |
| Emailing report cards | no | yes |
Verifying is the fix: Settings → Schools and verification → Add a school email. A deped.gov.ph or an active .edu.ph address verifies on the spot. Anything else waits for a person, business hours, no promised time.
Archiving a class frees a class slot. It does not free a gradebook slot — only deleting a gradebook does. At 70 learners in one class, split the section.
