"That email and password do not match an account"
One message covers both a wrong password and an address with no account here. Naming which it was would turn the form into a way to find out who has signed up. So check both:
- The address is the one you signed up with, spelled exactly.
- Press Show beside the password box and read what you typed.
- Still no. Press Forgot your password?, then open the link we email. It is good for 60 minutes and works once.
"Too many sign-in attempts"
Five wrong tries in a row from one address and network stop the form for a few minutes. Nothing is locked and nothing is lost. Wait it out, then use Forgot your password? rather than a sixth guess.

Then you may have no password at all. Use the same provider button you signed up with. Afterwards, Settings → Sign-in and security offers Set a password, so a borrowed computer is never a dead end.
Your phone with the passkey is gone
Use a passkey only offers passkeys held by the device in front of you, and only appears in browsers that support them. Sign in with your password or your provider on another device, then open Settings → Sign-in and security. Remove the passkey named after the lost phone — that device can no longer sign you in — and add a new one where you are. Your other passkeys keep working.
You asked us to delete the account
During the 30-day grace period the account stops answering to its password. If a Google or Microsoft account is connected to it, signing in with that provider inside the 30 days brings everything back. If none is connected, message us on the Facebook page before the 30 days are up — after that it is purged and gone.
