Nothing heavy happens while you wait on a page. Report cards, print batches and exports are built in the background, so a slow connection never costs you the work. Each one tells you when it is done.
Report cards after a release
The Release cards page counts what is still rendering and refreshes itself every ten seconds. A class of forty is usually done in a minute or two. Emails go out card by card, as each one is ready — not in one burst at the end.
A row that says Render failed did not get a PDF. Press Retry on it. If it fails a second time, message us with the reference code printed under the learner's name.
Print batches and exports
Both arrive as a notification in the bell in the top bar.
- Press Print N cards or Print the whole class, or export from the class.
- Carry on working. You do not have to stay on the page.
- Open the bell when the badge appears. A print batch says Print batch ready; an export says Export ready.
An export link works for 24 hours. After that, export again — nothing is lost, it is rebuilt from the same numbers.
Grades that stay on "recomputing"
Grades refresh a couple of seconds after the last score changes. While they are catching up the class record says so, and every score is saved either way. Press Compute them now to do the arithmetic in front of you instead of waiting.
When it really is stuck
If cards, exports or grades sit unfinished for minutes rather than seconds, our background workers are behind or down — not your device, and not your data. Nothing you typed is at risk. Message us on the Facebook page with your support reference and roughly when it started, and print the cards meanwhile if the term cannot wait.
