INC is not a low grade. It means one of the terms in that learning area has no computable grade, so no final grade can be averaged. On the Grades page, hover the INC and it names the terms that are missing.
Work back to the cause
- Look along the learner's row to the term columns for that subject. A dash instead of a number is the term to fix.
- Open that subject's class record for that term. Hover the dash to see why: No activities in this term yet, No scores recorded for this learner in this term, or a named component that cannot be computed.
- Fix what it says:
- Missing scores — type the score, or mark the cell excused. A blank is not recorded and holds the grade back; it is not a zero. If the learner genuinely scored nothing, type 0.
- A component with no activities — a component carrying weight needs at least one activity in that term. Add it on Activities.
- Still recomputing — wait a moment and try again. Faded numbers are not current yet.
- Go back to Grades and press Recalculate year-end.
While it is unresolved
The learner has no general average and their promotion status is Incomplete. On a released report card, the area prints INC in the Final column with the remarks left blank.
If the learner really cannot be completed
A learner who transferred in late, or who has no scores for a whole term, stays INC until your school decides how to close it. SchoolAide Lite will not invent a number for them, and the pre-flight check will keep flagging the release.
