Final grade
Per learning area, the mean of that area's term grades, rounded once at the end. Every term the area runs has to be there — three terms, four quarters or two semesters, whichever the class uses. One missing term and the area is INC. The engine never fills a gap with a guess.
Seeing the decimals
The Grades page's display picker can show final grades and the averages at two or three decimals, rounded half up or cut down — useful when two learners' whole numbers tie and you want to see why. The downloaded Summary of Grades carries the same choice, and says so under its masthead. Everything official keeps the whole numbers DepEd Order 15, s. 2026 prescribes: the stored grades, promotion, rankings, every report card, and the DepEd Banig. A final grade computed before the option existed shows whole until you press Recalculate year-end once.
General average
The mean of the final grades, rounded. If even one area is INC there is no general average, and the GA column shows a dash.
For Senior High School, DepEd Order 15, s. 2026 computes the general average using each subject's units. The weight is the units per term times the terms the subject runs: a 2-unit core across three terms carries 6, a 3-unit one-term elective carries 3. Type the units in the Units column on the class Subjects page, and set Terms it runs in Subject settings for a subject that does not span the whole year — the averages reweigh the moment either changes. A subject without units weighs in equally, and the Grades page and the release pre-flight both say so until every subject has them.
A subject marked as running fewer terms completes its final grade on those terms alone, drops out of the other periods' averages, and stops being counted "missing" by the release checks in periods it never runs.
Promotion status
Under DepEd Order 15, s. 2026, and shown in the Status column on Grades:
- Every area at 75 or above → Promoted
- Below 75 in one or two areas → Conditional — Summer Remedial Class
- Below 75 in more than two areas → Retained
- Any area still INC → Incomplete
Incomplete is deliberately shown as a dash, not a pill. Every learner is incomplete for most of the year, so a pill each would hide the ones that matter.
Unjustified absences over 20% of a term's class days fail the area under the same order. What you record on Attendance feeds this.
Remedial class marks
On Grades, a final grade below 75 is clickable. Type the mark from the Summer Remedial Class, 0 to 100. The recomputed final grade is the average of the two, and 75 passes. The dialog shows the learner, the area and the number it would become before you save. A recomputed area carries a small R in the grid.
